As Grade 5 parents, it is expected that your child is very comfortable with Grade 4 materials so if they are not, I suggest that you review them even with the Module 2 of Grades 2, 3 and 4 . If they struggled in Grade 4 then it is best to have them re review these materials before moving on to Grade 5 materials.

Your child must know:

1) How to determine place values until ten thousands
2) How to add with regrouping
3) How to subtract with regrouping
4) The different types of bar models and how to use them for two-step word problems
5) Multiplication tables and their bar models
6) Division and their related bar models
7) Fractions and Mixed Numbers
8) Decimals
9) Geometry
